Jason Dengler, Owner
In 2005, after a fifteen year culmination of professional and educational experiences, I knew the time was right to begin Wildwood Landscape.
My first job involved designing promotional displays for newly-released record albums which enabled me to hone my artistry and drawing skills. After working several years for the record industry, I began working at a local vineyard maintaining the grapes and learning about horticulture. It is here that my excitement for plants grew. I decided to blend my passion for art and horticultural and went to work for a small landscape design and construction firm. It wasnʼt, however, until I learned the business from the ground up; working several years as a laborer and foreman before I began designing landscapes. I worked as a landscape designer and project manager for eleven years and won several design awards during my tenure. During this time, I also enrolled in the George Washington University Landscape design program to supplement my on the job experience. I enjoy the challenges of running a small business and take exceptional pride in the work that our team members puts forth everyday.
I live with my wife and son in Purcellville and in my spare time I enjoy playing stringed instruments, drawing and spending time with my family.
Mark Sudduth, General Manager
I began my career in landscape construction over eleven years ago as a laborer working for American Cornerstone. As a laborer installing patios and walkways, I was able to do the two things I enjoy most: working with my hands and being outside. I worked my way up from laborer to foreman where I began overseeing installation of projects from laying out the job to completion. The best part of my job as a foreman was the sense of pride I felt when seeing the finished product. I still enjoy that part today, although my role in the process has changed.
In 2005, I was working with Jason Dengler at the time he decided to start his own landscape construction company. He asked me if I was up for the challenges and rewards of starting a new company, and I have been here ever sense. As the company grew so did my responsibility and I became General Manager in August of 2007. I enjoy the many hats I must wear from day to day, and working for a company that I truly believe in.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing the drums and hiking in the Shenandoah. I have recently moved to Loudoun County where I share my home with my girlfriend, Megan, and our horse, dogs and cats.
Polly Graham, Plant Material Specialist
As a child, I spent many long summer days adventuring in the woods and playing in the creek on my family’s dairy farm in western Loudoun County. My grandmother insisted my cousins and I bring back leaves to identify in our field guide. I now realize those were the moments that sparked my passion for horticulture.
In high school, I attended C.S. Monroe Vocational Center’s Horticulture program and worked weekends and summers at Overbrook Nurseries in Round Hill. After graduating from high school, I returned to Overbrook as a laborer and eventually became the yard manger. I was responsible for incoming and outgoing deliveries, assisting customers, and the overall health and maintenance of the nursery’s stock.
After 12 years of supply-end experience, I switched gears in April 2007 when I became the Plant Material Specialist at Wildwood Landscape. I enjoy working as the purchaser of all install plant material, and helping to grow our landscape maintenance division.
In my free time I’m very busy with my six-year old daughter, Laurel, and our puppy Moses. I enjoy being outdoors doing just about anything, watching Sunday football and being a mom.
